James Macdonald has been a vital member of Valley Spring Recovery for over two years, bringing with him more than a decade of experience in the behavioral health field. His journey through various roles—from Behavioral Health Technician and Case Manager to Director of Alumni, Director of Business Development and now Director of Admissions—has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the recovery process from multiple perspectives. James is also in long-term recovery, with over 11 years of continuous sobriety, which deeply informs his approach to patient care.
James is particularly passionate about working closely with both patients and their families. He believes that involving families in the recovery process is essential to the success of the treatment plan. His dedication to helping families navigate the complexities of addiction recovery is evident in his compassionate approach and the strong relationships he builds with those he serves.
In addition to his extensive professional experience, James is skilled in Social Services, Customer Service, Crisis Intervention, Mental Health Counseling, and Program Development. He is a strong media and communication professional, having graduated from Camden County College.
James’s primary goal is to ensure that every patient seeking treatment at Valley Spring receives the care and support they deserve. His commitment to this mission is unwavering, and he strives to make a positive impact on every individual’s journey to recovery.
