Together We Heal is a six-month family recovery support program at Valley Spring Recovery Center in Norwood, NJ, designed to help families heal alongside a loved one living with substance use disorder (SUD).

Led by Patricia Osterhoudt, CARC, CRPA, PSP, this monthly program provides families with education, practical tools, and emotional support to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and support long-term recovery.

Family Support for Addiction Recovery

Families are deeply impacted by addiction, and they deserve support too. The Together We Heal Family Program helps families better understand substance use disorder, reduce fear and stigma, and develop healthier ways to support recovery at home.

Each session combines education, skill-building, and guided discussion in a safe, compassionate setting.

Narcan Training & Overdose Prevention for Families

Overdose risk can occur at any stage of recovery, especially during early recovery or after periods of abstinence. Together We Heal includes Narcan training as an essential part of family recovery education.

Families learn how to:

  • Recognize overdose warning signs
  • Respond in an emergency
  • Properly administer Narcan nasal spray
  • Access free Narcan locally and online

This training is framed as harm reduction and community care, empowering families to be prepared, not fearful.
