Laura Schneider

Laura is a Licensed Master Social Worker in both New Jersey and New York. She has been practicing in the field for 15 years. She received her BA in Psychology from Stony Brook University and her MSW from Adelphi University. Her previous experience ranges from working in substance use disorder, mental health, and trauma, as well as with children and their families. She is currently working on her clinical hours for her LCSW and is pursuing EMDR therapy training later this year. Her approach to substance use disorder involves exploring how mental health and trauma have an impact on substance use. Her approach is multifaceted and she strives to bring an aspect of warmth and joy into the work she does. She likes to incorporate music and art into her groups, as well as games that help clients feel comfortable sharing deeply about themselves while also having fun. Laura enjoys spending time with her daughter and engaging in various art activities, such as painting, singing, and playing guitar.
